Assassination of Franz Ferdinand
Archduke, Franz Ferdinand was the successor to the Austria- Hungarian, Empire. The archduke Became successor to the thrown due to the suicide of his cousin,Crown Prince Rudolf. However his rule would be short, Danilo ilic, a member of the secrete society the black hand, Had other plans. On 28 June 1914, The archduke was assassinated Along with his wife by Gavrilo Princip. There were 6 men involved in the assassination; Danilo Ilic, Gavrilo Princip, Vaso Čubrilović, Trifko Grabež, Muhamed Mehmedbašić, and Cvjetko Popović. This assassination was for the political objective of breaking off the provinces of the south slavs and to have them join the new Yugoslavia.
This Assassination directly leads to the world war. With all the Alliances formed Among the central powers and the allies all it took was one declaration of war. Austria gave and ultimatum to the Serbian empire but when there proposal was rejected the war trumpets sounded. Ounce one country went to war they all did creating a massive bloody battle all across europe.
